Parent Teacher Conferences for Spring 2022
Hello Parents!
Parents Teacher Conference will be taking place this week during the following dates and times below:
Wednesday, March 16th 2022
5PM – 8PM
Student will follow the Friday Schedule and be dismissed at 1:27PM
Friday, March 18th 2022
1PM – 3PM
Students will follow the Normal School Day Schedule (Monday – Thursday) and be dismissed after 4th period at 11:44am
Conferences will be taking place over Zoom. If you would like to register for the conferences, please contact Ms. Copeland at copeland1@uamusicandart.org.

School Leadership Team @ UAMA
The School Leadership Team (SLT) is a group of people who develop educational policies for their school.
You are invited to be a part of the School Leadership Team!
Our second meeting will be on November 23, 2021 @ 5:00PM.
What does the SLT Do?
- Provide ongoing evaluations of a school’s educational programs and their impact on student achievement.
- Play an important role in school-based decision-making
- Help to make school cultures more collaborative.
Can I be a member of the SLT?
There are three members of the school community who must be members of the SLT:
- Principal
- Parent Association/Parent-Teacher Association President
- United Federation of Teachers Chapter Leader
The other members are elected parents and staff members. The SLT must have an equal number of parents and staff.

Upcoming SAT
Hello UAMA Families,
We will be giving the SAT to all 11th graders and 12th Graders who request to take the exam (based on test and seating availability) on October 28th 2021. This will be a normal instructional day for all other students. If your student would like to sit for the SAT, they should speak to Mr. Vural.
PTA Meeting
We encourage you or a family member to make every effort to attend our upcoming PTA meetings. Our first PTA meeting for the 2021-22 school year will take place via zoom tonight, September 28, 2021. The meeting will begin at 6:00 PM. Whether you have 30 minutes or a couple of hours, your ideas, your time and your talents are truly needed! Please reach out to Ms. Copeland for the registration link.

WHO: UAMA Juniors and Seniors (11th and 12th Graders)

UAMA is Hiring for 2022 – 23 School Year
The Bard Early College Academy @ UAMA is seeking educators passionate about their fields of study and committed to advancing equity through rigorous curricula made accessible to high school students with varied levels of academic preparation. Successful applicants must be committed to teaching classes through a competency-based interdisciplinary model that prepares students for our early college program in 11th and 12th grade.
In addition, candidates will be expected to participate fully in the life of the school, including professional development rooted in exploring historic/systemic inequalities in our society, especially as they are related to K-12 education; interdisciplinary curriculum planning; student advising; club and extracurricular involvement, and committee service. All candidates must have or be enrolled in a program working towards a New York State Teaching License; high school teaching experience, and/or experience working with high school-age students is desirable.
We are seeking teachers in the following subjects:
- Mathematics
- Science
- History
- The Arts
- Special Education.
The Bard Early College Academy @ UAMA is an early college partnership that establishes a satellite campus of the Bard Early College at the Urban Assembly School of Music and Art. The early college partnership enables students in 11th and 12th grade to enroll as part-time undergraduate students at Bard College, where they can earn up to sixteen tuition-free college credits concurrently with their high school studies. All classes take place at UAMA.
The Bard Early College Academy @ UAMA is committed to equity and inclusion and is an unscreened NYCDOE school with no entrance exam or audition process, open to all New York City students who apply.

We will be going live about 10-15 minutes before 11:00AM. Graduation will officially start at 11:00AM.
