Each credit represents a semester-long academic course. Students earn a credit for each class they pass each semester, including Xstudio. Students also earn credits for physical education and health.
To graduate in New York State, students must earn 40 credits in academic subjects and pass five Regents exams: English Language Arts, Math A, Global History, U.S. History, and a lab science. Students must also take physical education each semester, which earns them four credits.
