Update to Summer School

Posted by on 2:04 am in News, Parent Corner | 0 comments

Good evening everyone! A quick update to summer school. Classes begins tomorrow. Emails went out to parents and students containing the classes students will have to make up. Classes start at 8:30AM and end at 12:30PM. The times for specific classes are still not known. This information will be provided via email and the website as soon as it’s available. A separate email went out last week containing information on how students can activate their nycstudents.net accounts, which will be necessary to access their classes on the TeachHub Portal. From there, students can reach the iLearn platform where they can see their classes and learning content. A link to the TeachHub Portal is provided in this posting, as well as in the sidebar. We have also created a Google Classroom. This classroom has to be accessed via the TeachHub Portal. It is called UAMA Summer School Check-In, and students will have to submit a daily Engagement CheckIn for the day. Check for updates via the school website: http://www.uamusicandart.org For any general questions, please contact our Parent Coordinator Ms. Copeland at copeland1@uamusicandart.org For any tech related inquiries, please contact our Technical Specialist Mr. Collado at adam@uamusicandart.org For any instructional questions, please contact Assistant Principal Mr. Vural at...

Update To Parents Regarding Tonights NYCDOE Announcment

Posted by on 12:04 am in News, Parent Corner | 0 comments

Good Evening, As announced this evening in a press conference, the Mayor has closed all NYCDOE schools due to the COVID 19 virus until April 20th. I am learning of this like many of you through the press conference and the information provided on the NYCDOE website. Below I will include the guidance that the DOE has provided and will continue to update our community of the latest news when I become aware. The best way we can care for each other right now is to practice socially distancing. We are all concerned about those members of our community who are most dependent on our schools for support and services, and we are working diligently to obtain information about how we can best support our community members. Also, because the city’s guidance is changing minute to minute, please stay tuned for any developments. Please feel free to contact me directly if you have any question.
