Dear Urban Assembly School of Music and Art,

The safety and well-being of our students and staff members remain our highest priority. Toward that end, we are notifying you that this morning, we were informed of a potential threat to our school on social media.

NYPD was immediately contacted and is actively investigating the report. In the interim, we have been assured that there is no immediate threat to students, faculty or staff at our school. We therefore are proceeding with a regular day of instruction.

As part of our safety efforts, we have increased supports including additional school safety agents and NYPD presence on campus. Thank you for your cooperation as we work together to ensure that our school continues to provide a safe, supportive learning environment for all of our students. It is important that we remain vigilant, and if we see something, say something.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the school at (718) 858-0249.

Best,
Paul J. Thompson
Principal
Urban Assembly School for Music and Art

The Parent Surveys are Back

Posted By on Feb 28, 2018

NYC Parent Survey’s

Every year, all parents, teachers, and students in grades 6-12 take the NYC School Survey. The survey helps school leaders understand what key members of the school community say about the learning environment at each school. The 2017-2018 version of the NYC School Survey is aligned to the DOE’s Framework for Great Schools and collects important information about a school’s ability to improve student achievement and can support a dialogue among all members of the school community about how to make the school a better place to learn.

Parent Surveys are due by March 23, 2018. Therefore, during Parent Teacher Conference on March 8th & 9th 2018, we will have a room set up for you to complete your survey.

Please feel free to contact me if you have and questions or concerns regarding Parent Teacher Conferences or Parent Surveys at 718-858-0249 ext 8051 or zayas1@uamusicandart.org

Thank you,

Cecily Zayas
